Supplementary material for the paper “The endangered species Pyrrhura griseipectus Salvadori, 1900 (AVES: Psittacidae) is found in Bahia, Brazil”, by Rafael Félix, Sidnei Sampaio and Charbel N. El-Hani.
First footage shows the typical environment where P. griseipectus is found in the Itapicuru River estuary, in a mosaic of mangroves, restinga and abandoned coconut tree plantations. This footage was made in “Ilha do Chico”.
Second footage shows the mangrove in Ilha do Chico with P. griseipectus vocalizing with it.
Then, we have a sequence of footages of P. griseipectus individuals silent or vocalizing.
Next footages show them feeding on coconut tree inflorescences.
Final footage shows copulation between two P. griseipectus individuals.
At the end a series of photos is shown, beginning with P. griseipectus feeding on Cecropia (embaúba) seeds, and Mouriri sp. (cruiri) flowers, perching on Genipa americana (jenipapeiro), and several different individuals photographed in the estuary.
